Firstly, you need to know which version you need - 2 types are available, depending on the age of your SL-1200 or SL-1210 turntable.

In theory, the manufacturing date can be determined by the serial number as printed on the rear of the deck, but it is by no means a reliable method.

Fortunately, you can easily determine which version of reversing module you need, simply by removing the slipmat / mat from the aluminium platter :

1/ Rotate the aluminium platter, so that a finger hole is lined up exactly over the voltage selector's white label, as show in one the left hand pictures.

Again, depending on the age of your deck - the printing on the label will be either red or black - the 110V and 220V arrows, should just be visible.

Some USA turntables are not fitted with a voltage selector - position a finger hole on the right, so it is facing the very  top of the pitch slider scale.

2/ Using a torch, look down the RIGHT hand finger hole - you will be able to see a plastic connector with coloured wires - it will be either BLACK or WHITE.

You can then confidently select the correct version required for your Technics turntable - either a  revTech 1200-BLK  or a revTech 1200-WHT
